This seed mix is a nutritionally complete, balanced mix of grains, vegetables, legumes, seeds, insects, and herbs. It contains absolutely no pellets, added sugars, fruit, preservatives, colors, or fillers. All of our seed mixes follow the highest standard of hamster care in the world seen in Germany and Switzerland and can be fed alone without pellets / added synthetic nutrients. They are all carefully and precisely formulated based on scientific research and modeled after what a hamster would eat in the wild.

Contrary to popular belief, pellets are not necessary and can lower the overall quality of a hamster’s diet. It is also not necessary to slowly transition your hamster to a new diet like you would a dog or cat, since hamsters have considerable alimentary plasticity. Micronutrients have not been calculated in this mix, and it is not fortified with synthetic nutrients. Forage and fresh vegetables should also be provided several times a week in addition to a species appropriate seed mix. Your hamster should have an ample amount of forage at all times in the form of dried herbs and seed sprays. Most hamsters have no issue with an unlimited amount of forage, but if you notice that your hamster is very interested in a specific type of forage, it should be limited and fed in moderation.
